Italian chemical manufacturer Erca has teamed up with tech clothing brand Patagonia and world-famous zipper supplier YKK to scale up waste vegetable oil dyeing of polyester, Ecotextile reports.
The Revecol product line, used to level the surface to be painted and evenly distribute the dye, is made from chemicals that are by-products of the processing of vegetable oil that has already been used for its intended purpose, for example, for cooking.
